For those of your running Weld wheels..

Im wanting to get 15x8 and 15x3.5 Weld Pro star drag wheels for my 04 Mach 1

Im told a 15x8 with 5.5" backspacing is what I should go for. Will this clear the rear brakes?? If not what is required??

And as for fitting a 15x3.5 on the front, what did you have to do exactly? Spacer? ( if so what type) Caliper grinding required?

Im also not sure what I need for wheel studs.

Any help/info is greatly appreciated.

If you're looking to purchase new, I would highly suggest going with the newer Weld wheels, the RTS series. They're a new SFI approved street strip wheel we offer, that in the medium pad height design will clear OEM Cobra brakes and fit 1999-2004 solid rear axle equipped Mustangs perfectly. They're not a whole lot more per wheel than the Weld prostar wheel. They are light, come in polished or anodized black finish, and are affordable..and will fit with no spacers or grinding.

To fit the Prostar fronts you need to take a cut off wheel and trim the 3/8" ends off the studs (mostly just the non threaded portion) - then use 1" hubcentric spacers.

In the rear I run 3 1/2" studs - you might get away with stock studs at your track. No spacers needed in the rear.
