if 600hp is your goal. Stay 2v...but if you think it may NOT be enough. GO 4v. Just put forged rods and pistons in your 2v motor...get some cams and bolt ons and run a blower/turbo. That will for sure keep you under your budget if you do it right.

I you want to make hp go 4v. If your looking for torque I would sta 2v as the increase in lift typically will show more torque. Also american muscle should only have 2v per cylinder lol.

I was going with the tfs heads but decided to
Go 4v so I bought some 01 cobra 4v heads. I'm
Lookin for around 750s when all said and done through an auto. I also like 4v engine bays a lot better

600 wont be enough, youll want more, especially with the new GT500 having 650 stock at the flywheel, figure that means with minor mods they will hit 700whp easily. Grab yourself an 03/04 Cobra engine and dont look back, Im in the process of doing my twin turbo build, i have over 112k boosted miles, lots of abuse, and when i had the oil pan off, checked everything, and the engine still looks strong and clean and healthy. 03/04 Cobra longblock (04 has more threads for spark plugs on the heads, many 03's do also if the car was taken in for the TSB for revised heads), KB 2.6 or Whipple 2.3 at 16-18psi, some form of header, and a good intake and exhaust and throttle body and call it a day. A good friend of mine here in Lancaster has a KB 2.8 with Behemoth inlet (not the mammoth, its aftermarket, forget who makes it) and with a larger throttle body, e85, and mid length headers from Bassanni he cranked out about 790whp at only 22psi.
