Vortech on my Mach? Lot's of questions!

Hey guys, I've been looking into getting a vortech for my car. I don't want to spend a hell of a lot, but I want to put a good product on my car. I've seen the Vortech V-2 systems on AM and Lethal, and I'd be happy with 450-480 hp. Any one have any experience with these kits? I'd really like to have this done before summer gets here, and the price of this one seems more realistic to me (I'm still in college, graduate this semester)...I'd just like to do this before I get to far into life and make sure I can make all of my payments with no problems. My car's hitting 10,000 miles at this point in time, are the internals good enough to withstand the higher power? I know I've got a forged crank but what about the rods, etc...you know the whole spill...So what are your opinions??

Awesome, I'm sure I can find someone around here that could do a good tune...How long's yours been supercharged?

I would recommend buying a tuner from AM. BAMA is very customer service-friendly, plus free tunes for life is a pretty good deal.

^^ I would NOT recommend this at all. You need a dyno tune with boost. You will need to get a handheld tuner, but you must get a dyno tune or your going to have nothing but problems. Bama may be able to get you by, but you will not see the gains you would after a dyno session. And mines been SC'd for maybe 3-4k miles.

And just keep in mind, like me your going to be at the very top of your internals limitations. So anything over 9-10psi and your asking for trouble.

Vortech and Paxton have stood the test of time. Proven reliable systems. Vortech purchased Paxton a few years ago. To be safe keep the boost to no more than 10psi on the stock shortblock. Keep the a/f fat and minimal timing and she'll live.

I've already got the sct w/ Bama tunes but planned on getting it dyno tuned also

Thanks man, I didn't plan on running any more than 8 psi anyways, gotta save the motor
