Big bore destroked 4.6

I was just thinking today and wanted to get your guys thoughts on this. I thought about a mid boost cobra (around 20 psi). What i was thinking is that There is a destroker crank for the 4.6 but i wanted to do a big bore with darton wet sleeves.

With the sleeves and the destroker crank you could get 4.5-4.8 depending if you bore the sleves. I think this would be a great idea. Expensive yes but it would help the rod:stroke ratio. I also think this would be neat to have a turbo cobra that spins to 9,000. And with the bigger bore i doubt you would loose any torque. This would be a neat project. And with a big bore teksid i bet you could see 1000 hp. The block prep would be near 4000 dollars but it would be cool
What do you guys think?

Well A. that much motor wouldn't fit in a cobra. But more than anything i mean do you guys think that it would be plausible?

lol it would fit because i already fit one in my car.

it would work, but there really is no point. you are just burning more money to get the same end result.

I was fairly certain there were 1000 hp stock-displacement Teskids out there.

I think it's certainly plausible, but you're not getting a whole lot of gain for your money. I mean, you could sink $4k into the block just to change your power curve, or you could put that money towards boost and be making significantly more power overall.

It really depends on your budget and your goals. If you've got an unlimited budget and a desire for something unique, it's certainly doable.

Remember that the beaten path is generally that way for a reason: it's typically the easiest and most efficient way from point A to point B.

Ya thanks guys i was just toying with the idea and no one seems to have done it so i thought maybe it would be interesting. Wouldn't it help piston speeds too?

destroking a motor usually wears the piston rings faster.

You know you can get a big bore aluminum block straight from ford and not worry about the sleeves. There is also no point in revving it that high, and you will have plenty of work to do to make your entire car get along with 9000rpms, and some of it probably wont be cheap. I think if you are committed in your efforts to go along with this, try it with a 5.4L block, a big bore 5.4 with a shorter stroke might let you get your better ratios.
