I like this tire size calculator because it lets you easily compare tire sizes.

Tire size calculator

According to this, the 305/35/18 is .7 inch taller than a stock 245/45/17 so from the side you're not going to notice a huge difference. You will need 10 inch wide rims to run the 305s, not sure what you have currently. This will alter your overall gearing slightly as well.

Also according to that calculator, a 245/40/18 is the same height as our stock 245/45/17. A 255/40/18 would probably be a better pairing with the 305/35 in the back because it's .3 inch taller than stock and gets you a little closer to matching that 305.

so i should get 255 for the front and 305 in the back?? what about ppl running skinnys why cant i run 225's in the front for less weight

Sorry, didn't realize that's what you were after. The issue is that if you get too big a discrepancy in tire height front-to-back, the ABS and traction control will get out of whack. If you go skinnies, you still want to try to match the tire height as close as possible. Either that or permanently disable the ABS and TC. A 225/45/18 on like a six or seven inch wide rim would be appropriate and would save a little weight.

Now having said all that, I've never done the big/little combo myself so I'm no expert at it. Hopefully someone who has will chime in.

Thanks man yea i plan to buy 18's all around i just dont see no point in having bigger then 245 in the front since i never really autocross i just go to the drag strip and don't car much for handling even though my car handles good

On a New Edge, I'd keep 17s so I can fit a taller tire. 17s and lowered look great.
