pullied cobra difference?
how much of a diff will a 2.81 pulley make on the Cobra? I'm all stock besides magnaflow catback. I ran into a 2011 Roush stage 1 with a CAI, exhaust, and a tune and were were dead even. we went around a small curve and i was on the outside, and slowwwwly started to pull from him, i mean like a snail. i just was curious as to how much of a diff id see with a pulley and CAI (and a tune).

Stage one is pretty much a 5.0 from a roll. Sounds about right depending on driver.

Pullies do help. Good rule of thumb on boost is for every 1 pound of boost increase equals 8-10 HP. A 2.93 pulley will increase boost 3-4 pounds so a 2.81 should be close to that maybe a tad more. I would say at least a 35 HP increase along with 25-30 TRQ to be on the safe side.

A 2.8 upper pulley and a tune will be a noticeable difference, no doubt you would be happy with it.

Just send it stegmeier and get it ported its not that expensive. For the money you will have lower temps, and you will see more power at a lower boost level. They do good work from what i have heard.

just did a 2.81 and a tuner on my 03, noticed a big difference in power. need wider rear tires now for sure, on street tires you will spin 1-2 every time.

i had a 2.9, UPR intake, catless x, and magnaflow magnapack exhaust, made 430whp and 470wtq, seemed a bit high but maybe it was just the dyno, id say mustang man is right but personally id send the blower to Brian @ Posi, get his race port, run a 2.76 pulley with an idler set, and smash down 470-490 rwhp, $1000-$1200 in parts for 80-100hp increase over stock is nasty

Yes, traction is gonna be a problem now, not a bad problem to have, it can be fixed!

A pulley will make a huge difference. My car makes 444/447 with JUST a 2.9 pulley, K&N drop in filter (stock intake piping) and a MAC Catback (stock catted H pipe) and it's trapped 116mph.

I am interested in starting to do some mods like you have. Where can I get the pully and do I need to tune if I just do the pully and filter? I already have Bassani cat back exhaust and just want a little more power-for now.

My car made 475 to the rear wheels on a VERY conservative 91 octane tune, which is a little more than 100 over stock and my only horsepower mods are a ported blower, 2.93 upper pulley, CAI, and MAC mid-pipe and exhaust.
Make sure you spend the extra cash to get a nice set of idlers.

There are a lot of places but Lethal Performance is my favorite. And yes, you need a tune if you swap pulleys. Some companies sell kits that come with a hand held tuner pre-set for whatever size pulley you go with so you don't have pay for a dyno tune.
