What should i do next
Hey im running a bolt on mach 1
I currently have Jlt intake 1/2" plenum spacer American Racing Lt Headers and 3"o/r X with borla stingers Dyno tuned. I have a C&L intake off my other Mach 1 that i plan on replacing the JLT with b/c it flows better My car currently makes 310 whp 335ish wtq My question is what else should i spend my money on, i want to stay naturally aspirated so i was thinking about getting a bigger throttle body putting my c&l intake on it and getting it re-tuned. Is there anything else i could do to unlock some whp? injectors maybe? Maf? underdrive pullies? id like to only do one trip to the dyno lol

What gears do you have? 4.10s for a daily driver or 4.30s for weekend warrior.

its the stock 3.55, i was thinkin 3.73 i think 4.10 is a bit much, its my DD but i do alot of hwy driving at or above 70mph, 4.10s would be a nightmare lol

I had an 04 Mach 1 and had 4.10s as a DD. On the way from NC to GA I was driving 80mph and got 23mpg. Don't fear the gear man. I did change it back to 3.55s when I went with turbos though.

haha oh i know about your mach 1, its not so much the mpg, i get about 23 too, its the rpm at 80 (what about 3k?) and how fast ill run out of rpm in 4th, i dont want my car to top out at 130, thats lame haha. Still runnin a 5 speed swervo!
I really do like the 3.55, its a happy medium between 3.23s (i think a gt comes with that) and 3.73, but i think a 3.73 would give me a little better pull.

Shit I can't remember lol. It's been 4 years since I had 4.10s in the mach. I still had my stock 3650 with an MGW shifter. Anyway, how many times are you going to top out 4th gear? I think it's a moot point. N/A bolt on Mach might get 110-115 ETs. Unless you want to street race. Most street racing ends around 120 anyway.

i guess youre kinda right, im not really makin it strip ready its more for street purpose, i actually have a triax in my car now but i have an MGW from my other Mach (RIP), i love the super short throw of the MGW but it was stiff as hell, way easier to snatch third with the steeda. So you think 4.10s? really? i already have shit for traction in 1st, im puttin DD FR500s on it soon with 285 nt555s, hopefully that will hook a little better. What other bolt ons should i do as far as maximizing my naturally aspirated potential?
Right now ive got the stock tokicos with eibach sportline springs. Why do you ask?

I can't think of any other bolts ons, I had all the ones you have now. Maybe a throttle body, but that's a big maybe in terms of adding more hp to your current combo. You really don't need bigger injectors or MAF since you're still just a bolt on Mach. Underdrive pullies might give you maybe 5hp. If you want more hp, your going to reach deep down into your pockets and get port and polished heads, cams and ported intake manifold.
As for your suspension I would suggest rear lower control arms at least to help get you the traction you need. Also if you havent already done so, Maximum Motorsport full length subframe connectors. |

I will definitely pick up those control arms, and porting is going to happen later down the road, lol like you said, deep into my pockets, i just bought a house last year and its suckin up alot of funds. I think im just gonna put my c&L intake on it and get it retuned. A fresh tune couldnt hurt anything. Ill check out those subframe connectors as well.
I really like the Mach 1 platform, i think ill most likely get a Terminator next, maybe ill get sucked into the world of the new 5.0 like SOMEbody did...trader haha Thanks for the advice. oh what brand of lower control arms do you suggest, they range from 150 to 300 bucks lol.

LOL. I love my old Mach and I really miss it. I definitely wouldnt have passed smog out here in Nazifornia, plus I wanted something new! Anyway, the Mach does come with bolt in subframe connectors, but they're crap. MM FLSFCs are way better and will stiffen up the chassis. |

I got MM control arms because I like MM, but others of similiar design should work well. The uppers aren't needed unless you drag race alot and want to get more bite off a dig. They'll just make you have more NVH otherwise. |

Yea MM seems to be a good option, the reviews say so, man if i had 3.73s or 4.10s and could actually plant, DUDE, my car would hall ass for real. Youre makin me wanna take it to the track, i bet with 4.10s LCA's and DRs my car could go high 12s.
Thanks again for the advice. Whats new with the smirfmobile? yes...yes i did.

i went with UPR for my LCA's. probably will go with them for Upper's too. Jazzer has a VERY nice suspension guide in the 99-04 tech section. thats worth a look~see.

Youre right my car right now should run high 12s, this is my 2nd mach and i can tell a definite deference in this car vs my first, its really strong, lots of torque, im addicted. lol
I REALLY want 3.73s LCAs and my DD fr500s now, im pretty sure racing from a dig will be a joyous experience lol.

A throttle body is a waste of money for a bolt-on Mach. Half of them don't work right anyway from what I've read. Getting your intake ported is probably your next step for power. And before you get your car tuned again grab a 90mm MAF and install that when you get the car tuned. After that you're pretty much left with opening the heads/motor for N/A power. You don't need new injectors with a bolt-on Mach or even a Cobra cammed Mach.
