96-98 Cobra plug wire cover question

Hey all,

While doing my engine build I lost the nuts that hold the spark plug covers on the valve covers. the 4 little nuts a side, what are they? Where would I be able to buy them?

Thanks! Stupid little things!

I have a buddy with an extra set laying around I'll get the size for you this weekend unless somebody beats me to it.

I only did the plugs/wires once on my Cobra, and I don't really remember if those fasteners were anything special.

If you have the ones from the other side, I'd try to see if you could find them at the fastener section of your decent local hardware store.

Here is a pic of what they look like, if it helps. Not sure what size they are.

+1

If you have to, just get a matching set of nuts and then you can get plastic covers for them at most hardware stores. It's usually in the furniture/hardware section.

Yeah, those are just acorn nuts. You should certainly be able to find some.

Thank you guys for the replies!!!

I have 0 of them. Anyone know thread size? Anything?

I went to the "local" (35 miles away) Ford dealership and they "didn't even have information on what I was asking"

So who knows. Maybe go buy a bunch of random metric nuts and start out at the smallest and work up LOL

IF someone has an extra set, OR if you find some at the local country market and or fair, and you snag me a set- Lemme know what they are worth to you and Ill shave some off a Washington for ya!

They are M4x0.7 acorn nuts. Mcmaster-Carr has a selection of ones that will work, but won't look quite right: McMaster-Carr

Or, you can order the original ones through Ford. Part# N807370-S100
