Rear lower control arms, J&M or Steeda

Ordering lower control arms next week, I see J&M have great reviews on AmericanMuscle.com and they cost like $200 but I've never heard of J&M before until I started looking for control arm. Now Steeda I know is a very well and is a very reputable brand, but they cost like $300. Now I'm leaning more toward J&M right now because they are cheaper and gave good reviews, but if Steedas are worth the extra $100 then I'm going to get them. Can anyone shed some light for me?

Id go with the maximum motorsports personally. But I think the J&M's are fine as long as they have at least one spherical bushing.

I have UPR's, love em. WARNING Spherical bushings make alot of noise, even if they are only on one end of the arm. Ride in a car with them or at least watch a video with them. If your car is mostly street driven with occasional track use, get polys on both ends. I have em, they launch well, and no extra noise.

get adjustable uppers. go to Jazzers suspension guide thread thers alot of good info in there, search it here. If you mostly street driving, stock uppers will be fine.

I'm curious where the J&Ms are made. I know the Steedas are made here in the US, which is part of why they're more expensive.

Doing a quick google search for J&M, the first page is the AM sales tidbit and a bunch of forum posts asking about them. I'd expect that any reputable company would show up on the front page of a google search for their own product.

They also look *exactly* like the MM poly-bushed non-adjustable arms. Now, there's not a whole lot of variability when it comes to a control arm, but every company I've seen that I know makes their own arms is able to make them look slightly different. Generally if they look identical to someone else's, they're a knockoff.

To be clear, I am *not* saying that the J&Ms are bad or a knockoff or anything like that. What I'm saying is that my quick bit of research doesn't give me any warm-fuzzies about them, though, and based on that, I'd be going with the Steedas.

I have the J&Ms on my GT500 and have no complaints. I installed the J&M lowers with a double adjustable UPR upper control arm.

before you decide on anything, take a look at Jazzer's UNofficial suspension guide in the 99-04 tech section. he has a nice list of Jazzer-Approved LCA's i think you should take a look at

I had HPM Megabytes upper and lower, but Jazzerr does not approve of them. He knows a great deal about suspension parts which is why I suggest that you read his sticky about suspension. You will learn a lot, and it will guide you to making the right choice.

Thank you for the kind words.

Steeda weight jackers are the only control arms out there that feature a complete Billet design. We start off with over 15lbs of 6061 alumimum and when we are done these bad boys weigh less then 4.5 lbs each. They feature roller bearings under the spring perch so raising or lowering your car with a 1/2 socket drive is a piece a cake. Also the arms are completely upgradeable. We offer 3 different bushing and bearing combinations. I would suggest starting with all polly and possibly upgrading to bearings in the future. Whats nice is we run the bearing at the axle end with a bushing at the Chassis, this does help reduce the amount of NVH present inside the car.
Also our arms have a lifetime warrantee so they will be the last set you ever purchase. PM me or SteedaMatt if you would like a forum discount.

They have been on my personal fox for over 7 years now with no issues. Close to 1000hp and 8 second ET's on radials isn't a problem with them.
(I'm in the outside getting TREE'ed!!! LOL )
