Sounds like a good deal but id figure out how much its going to cost to get everything fix/installed. Then make a decision i have no idea what any of that would cost

The Teksid block is worth that price...

think about the total cost involved, then make your choice. Yeah 250 bucks, after getting misc. hardware, heads looked at and cleaned, exhaust solution, everything together, an whatever problems you will have (don't lie to yourself, there will be some problems there always is). then see if you can afford it.
Look up some 4v swap posts here and see what those guys are going through. It will work, but be prepared for a long process.

No to mention 4V parts aren't cheap. everything is twice as costly, because there are twice as many working parts in the heads...

99's aren't teksids, they are WAP blocks.
What 4v parts would he need that are more expensive? Yeah cams are, but stock cams work fine. If the motor checks out it wont be anymore expensive.

This is the first I've ever heard of a WAP block in '99. Everything I've read says that all the '99s had the Teksid block and just a few of the '01s also had it. However, I've never actually pulled mine apart to verify this.

Edit: I shined a light down behind the alternator on my '99 and verified that it is a Teksid block.

Yup. There was a big thread on SVTP from actual owners that some Teksids even made their way into the 01.

However let me bring something up here...
If you swap the 4v heads onto your shortblock, you will have 8.5:1 CR. That means your car is going to make even LESS power, and feel like a dog.

I would say buy the engine, tear it down and build it up, and THEN swap the whole motor in. It's a very nice block, you'll have a better CR and make more power that way, all the while shaving weight from the car.

After all, replacing rings is a pretty easy fix. You can probably do it with the engine on a stand without even removing the crank.

First off you are wrong about the blocks, as previously mentioned by others. Second yes, you have twice as may valvetrain pieces, and twice as many cams. Stock cams may be fine for you, but not for all of us. especially when there is so much to gain from a set of aftermarket cams...
