on 4V's its all about the borla's, once you hear them you dont use anything else.
i would use them again, but im in a area that they will ticket for loud exhaust, and with the LT's, O/R X, and maggies, its already ALOT louder than the old 03 cobra was with jsut the O/R X, and stingers, so i couldnt imagine how loud it would be with headers too.

I owned 12 different sets over the past 20 years along with every other motor/blower combo. Seems like everytime you change your motor combo, the exhaust note changes as well. I was just curious to see what the rest of the guys like.

would there be a big gain in exhaust note with mac 2 1/2 catback along with the stock h pipe. or would it be so close to stock that it wouldn't be worth the 300?

yeah but looking ever since I first bought my car. I want to do a catback and down the road when i get the money do long tubes and o/r X but i don't have 1200 to drop on the full set right now. So i was wondering if the mac would be a big gain over the stock exhaust note with stock manifolds and h pipe

Mac's sound good they're one of the louder chambered mufflers. If you're interested i have a set of Steeda's for sale. It's not a catback though just the mufflers.

SpinTech turns a street car into a pro-stock. If you want the meanest sounding car possible, go SpinTech.
If you want tried-and-true sound that you can't go wrong with, but isn't the loudest or most unique, go Flowmaster. Can't go wrong. The rest are really based on your opinion and I highly suggest going on YouTube and finding clips of anything before you buy it. Analyze it and decide what you want. My personal opinion is SpinTech and I think Flowmaster is a good "go-to" if you are not sure. However, there's a ton of choices and just someone's opinion of what they have (like mine) probably won't do it. It really depends on if you are looking for Baby-eating soul-crushing noise, or just a nice note. Personally, V8s need to destroy villages with noise, so I love SpinTech. |

Over the years I have tried just about every muffler out there. I haven't heard any borla's on the 4V around here but its hard to beat that flowmaster sound.

i got mac back now with my solid axle it much nicer to drive on interstate now, but my muffler gets so dam hot it burns my rear seat. so i think im going ot yes''. cut my borla off and weld them into my cat back , and use the borla tips there 4 in compared to the mac 2.5 rolled tips.. |
