Lookin good bro!!!

I usually glaze mine, then wax it with Tech Wax. If you really want it to shine rub it down with penetrating oil, It will glow. I only reccomend that for car shows, or if you never see dust or dirt roads.

thanks. i spent some time on it today haha. I detailed the engine bay to an extent. lets just say it looks way better but its no where near perfect, i live on a hill and its about a 1/4 mile winding gravel driveway so to much work is pointless

after i did these pics i did the wheels and tires, and took some back to black by mothers and did the black trim on the car . in the pics i had already done the shaker so it was looking pretty nice also did leather wipes and armoral wipes inside. now she just needs to be vac'd out

thanks alot guys.

my biggest issue with the cars paint is that i have about a dozen paint chips on the front end. one being very noticable in the black stripe. and others are random from rocks i suppose.

secondly the rear bumper feels like 180 grit sand paper. i tryed rubbing compound and the clay bar and two coats of wax. still feels like crap. seems that the metal parts of the car did well with clay bar and are slick as can be but the plastic parts such as rear bumper just didnt take well. im not sure if its in the clear coat itself or whats up. oh well i guess its what i get for a 2003 model car.

Probably should wet sand it then. age doesn't matter if you take care of it. We have semi trucks with 20 year old paint, and they look like brand new yet live outside. Why is this? We wash and wax them on regular basis. Even in winter, and Michigan's winters are harsh. If you keep up on it than they'll stay like new. I don't even use soap on my car. I just use cold water, and a shammy. But you're also talking to a someone who washes the underbody of the car and has been known to wax the frame of his semi truck.

Clay bar is the trick to a great detail on your paint! If the paint is in good shape a clay bar is the night and day difference. I spend an average of 10 hours fully detailing my car one day in the spring and then at least 5 hours a week keeping it clean.

I'm really not a fan of scratch removers or rubbing compounds, they never seem to do as advertised unless it's extremely light scratches. However, I always do the: Dish Soap Wash > Clay Bar > Wash > Polish (Glaze) > Wax for the paint. There are a bunch of people who say don't use dish soap; the hell with that. It strips all the old wax off great, just don't dish soap every wash. Once a year isn't going to hurt it.

The only problem is when you own white cars is the clay bar process takes forever. On white you can see every tiny spec of tree sap, tar, and whatever else is in the paint.

Bonus to white? It hardly ever looks dirty and paint chips have to be inspected to be seen.

True, about dish soap. I don't often use soap, but if I do that's what I use. I like rubbing compounds though. I have had great luck with them. I usually will wheel my car once a year. If you want a good glaze then get 3M Imperial Handglaze, also try 3M Finesse when wheeling. It will take out all small surface scratches.

More luster than wax, but doesn't last as long.
