i know an old guy who owns an 03 cobra mustang, lightly modified, meaning exhaust, and cold air intake, this car does have 75k miles on it, he is the original owner, this is a no bullshit question need to know how much i should offer him, i am gonna offer him 16000 for it, cause it is a termi, i know him personally, he drives it during the week, and his zo6 on weekends, yeah he is loaded, but i need to know do this cars need engine help at this point?? Or anything else??

the 03 Cobras had
the head tick (not really a big deal) and the tsb on the gas pedal sticking but that's about it.
it truly is an amazing car.

i personally wouldnt offer him 22 for it. I would start at 18 and work my way up from there.

+1 Iwas thikig 19, but Weems is right. You can always go up. Apply for a loan for about 24. That way if you go up you can still buy it.

Check for the head tick before you buy it. If you wanna get the head tick fixed and its outa warranty you are gonna need new heads. If it doesn't have the tick, do the cooling mod as soon as you can.

Not true. I browse around for these cars on a regular basis and I've seen a hanfull with 70+K miles going for $19-20K.

I would offer this guy $16K (the worst he will say is no, and you may get lucky and he'll take the offer...doubtfull though) and go from there. I wouldn't pay more than $19K. The price on these cars is starting to drop, and if you look hard enough you can find one with under 50K miles with a $22K asking price.

yeah i am waiting for the phone call from the bank, and from him to talk to him about it tonight, i am gonna start at 17k and go no higher then 18500, see what happens!!

And i will listen for the heads ticking, and if it does i will offer him 16k!

if i can recall the head tick on some of the machs it wasn't an issue to be concerned about. The head mod is a benefit, but not mandatory. It was piston slap, correct? Correct me if you will please.
