I Got Rearended Today

No not in that way.

I was sitting at a stop light. There was an old guy behind me and his foot slipped off the brake and now I have two bolt size indentations from where the bolts go in for his license plate. I'm going to see if I can hammer them out in a little bit.

In other news I put the new tensioner on and no more noise from the engine.

That does suck. Did the guy not have insurance to pay for it to get fixed or are you just going to pocket the insurance money?

I'm not sure what I"m going to do. I might be able to just hammer the dents back out and throw some touch up paint on (which I already have). It really doesn't look bad and you can't notice it until you get right up on it. If I can get it hammered out its likely that I won't ask for any money at all.

Unless there is serious damage to panels then I usually let it slide. Most low mph accidents like yours seem to just leave paint scuffs and minor scratches that can pretty much be buffed out. I have a car in very good shape but it's not perfect. If I just bought let's say a new GT500 or something then someone would be paying for something.

People leave these in parking lots and drive away all the time and I get stiffed. I might as well just treat it like someone dented me in the parking lot - worse could have happened.

I'm studying for a test right now and I can't make it out to the car to get the bumper off to try to ding those dents back out. I know there are two screws in each wheel well, but is there anywhere else that I need to unscrew/bolt to get that rear bumper off?

yea, you should have some behind the trunk liner when you pop your trunk that holds the middle section of your bumper in place
