yeah, the only reason to not say '03 would be for the iron block.

of course the 03... forged internals... lower compression which means more PSI = MORE POWER

define better, 2003 is forged, but the internals are nothing special... and the cobra heads arnt as good as the 2001 heads if you ask me.. but thats factory tuning for use with the supercharger. the m112 is crap... ok for the average guy, but not nearly enough for me, the 2003 motor have head tick problems.. they have to be replaced at 1500 a piece to you. The motor is overall good, the head cooling mod is an absolute must (helps with the tick) I am a modder, so stock anything is worth nothing to me... if your going to heavily mod your car, your better off with a GT or a v-6 and gut it, if your gonna do bolt ons and piddly stuff then the cobra is worth it. but imo there is no sense in paying alot, just to turn around and pay alot more (cobra parts are more expensive to work with other stock crap)... the tranny is not viper spec, it has IRS - which I like but isnt superior by any means for performance.. the brakes are upgraded but dont perform all that well, nice body.. but cheap to buy on your own also... and then the cobra is worth more, but when you modd it, its worth less...

In all your better off buying an 01 motor, forging it and gettin the heads worked for about the same price a stock cobra motor

exactly, thats why you go lower compression and run more boost = more power..

get a 01 without forging the internals and run a kb with 15 lbs = boom
03 cobra with kb 15 lbs = 550+ hp

03 > 01

he said lower compress means more psi ... it doesnt

and 01 motor $1500- add 3-4k in work... a hell of alot better than a stock 03

03 motor $5000 or more

Not directly, but lower compression means you can run more psi without bad things happening to your engine.

The fact that you think the 01 heads are better is misguided. The fact that you think the terminator bottom end isn't anything impressive is misguided. Pound for pound the terminator will hold more than a built 01 will.
