It's been 6 minutes since your last post. It's not going to move off the first page for the next few days.

Probably synchro. Holding the clutch in allows the input shaft to slow down which is why it is easier to get it in if you hold the clutch.

before you call it quits maybe i can help, this isnt a t56 correct?
i believe you are rocking a 5 speed if so, and the problems your stating i would say that there is a possibility your hydraulic system for your clutch has a problem and or has had a problem this is why the tranny is reacting the way it is, try bleeding your clutch and making sure full disengagement is achieved when you put the pedal to the floor, if you check that is working perfectly try changing your tranny fluid to gm synchromesh, i have a 98 ranger and the same thing was happening to me until i changed the fluid and wha laa problem solved, also let me guess the hotter the trans gets or the longer you drive the worse it does it right? probably fluid deterioration. hope this helps. good luck |

Which can be part of the issue - if the cable is stretched, the stock quadrant may not be disengaging the clutch completely.
I honestly think the issue is synchros, but I figured I'd toss that into the fray.

Tell me about it. I just learned the other day that the Camaros only have one cam. Damn you all and your cheap parts for big gains.

lol, well some call it old school, but i say if it aint broke dont fix it, kinda like when ford went modular in i think 96, you can pretty much kiss all n/a power goodbye, stock that is, and i know the mach 1's are damn fast for being n/a and only 4.6 but that motor can breathe. but yes, a 16v pushrod motor is what all ls motors are based off of, with slight differences between years and models as far as casting #'s but everything is intechangeable, so if you find a zo6 vette guy going for bigger power, you can buy his stock heads, mill them port them, throw in a small cam and your sitting at anywheres to 400 hp all the way into the 5's depending on what size cam and how much work you pour into the heads,i know my buddy has ported ls7 heads on his ls2, and they flow 385cfm at 600 lift, you cant find that shit even from afr, he's got a 10 sec pig, aka gto, |

check 4th gear..see if it grinds at all..synchros work in groups 1st,3rd,5th and then 2nd,4th, and Reverse..to check your clutch put the e-brake up put it in first gear, then slowly let the clutch out and it should want to stall right around half way up..
