I don't know much about the non PI motors, but I have the accufab on my Mach, and it loves it.

Generally, everyone who has bought a twin bore throttle body has said that it wasn't worth the $300+ for it on N/A manuals. I have heard that it wakes automatics up quite nicely. I'm not too familiar with your year Cobra though. If you have anything else to add to the car I'd put your money there first to be on the safe side.

I've heard the BBK throttle body is a waste of your time and money.

I'm pretty sure from what I understand is this:

If you're going to plunk down the cash buy the single-blade Accufab or stick to the stock one all dolled up. Generally, folks have said the BBK actually hurt them or was a flat waste.

I even remember reading someone here who said they'd maxed out their N/A and bought an Accufab or something and they still wish they spent that cash elsewhere. The fact is the 1996 Cobra TB is actually fine for N/A.

I would say just P&P your stock one if anything. They flow pretty damn well.

I have all the bolt ons except headers which are going in this week, and I am running a P&P'd stocker.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I almost want to say the 96-98 Cobra's TB suffers in the same way the B heads do, it flows too well.

Is this the case with the TB also?

I bought the Accufab, and while it wasn't a really noticable gain, there was a difference. If I could go back, and do it again I probably would have had my stock TB p&p'd.

sn-95 cobras like just about all cars like their intake track cleaned-up, but the twin bore TB isn't the restriction. The biggest problem those engines have is getting the exhaust out, Thats were their heads suck, not on the intake side.

Just port the stock TB unless you plan on giving it forced induction.

this is what happened to mine, was a 65mm twin blade..seemed to work great in stock fashion, but if you want to put any boost through it, I couldnt recommend it...

Well if it was the 4th quarter, you're down by two, and you only have time for one shot, I wouldn't go with the BBK from the looks of that picture. Because I don't think it can handle the pressure.

It was connected to a rubber intake tube with a T-Bolt clamp...she was receiving about 16lbs of boost through the set up....BBK claims the T-Bolt was overtightened and it was installer error..there are still threads left on the clamp and it took it more than a month or so to get like this..not like it happened as soon as the clamp was tightened...it couldnt possible be the fact that the throttle body has a 1/16th" thick, cast material, throat where the intake tube clamps on!

they told me it would never fail under a normal worm drive clamp force....we could never get it to hold with a worm drive clamp...even with the blower only pushing 10ellbees... It did clamp fine with a worm drive when the car was N/A... you make your own decision...im going a different route myself...
