2001 Cobra vs 1999 Cobra

Ok so im in the market for a cobra. What are some differences between the 99 and 01 Cobra. I already know the cobra embroidered leather seats arent in the 99 and I also know the rear bumper says mustang on it instead of cobra like 01. What are some other differences? any engine differences?

Thanks!

The trans could be diff, mid 01 they switched from the T45 to the T3650, '01 made a little more power, but they pretty close other than that.

given the option, I'd take the '01 - same car essentially, but the '01 had the bugs worked out.

10 grand for that car is a steal if all checks out on it. I paid 10k for my 99 hardtop with 95k miles on it six months ago. It only had exhuast and chrome saleen wheels for mods and it NADA'd for 11,200 then. That cobra your lookin at probably NADAs for about 12,000 or so

Before I bought my Mach, I was looking at an '01 hard top Cobra, the car had only 21k and the guy was asking 18.5k which I thought was ridiculous. My buddy ended up buying the car for 15k, I bought my 04 Mach with only 4700mi for 19.5k

1999 had a iron block. 2001 had a alm block(75lbs less, but weaker)
1999 had a different transmission than 2001
and 1999 had "MUSTANG" on the bumper, 2001 had "COBRA"
2001 also had better pistons

I think i am forgetting something... but i cant remember what.

Studies show that 92% of kids listen to rap. If you are one of the 8% who still listens to real music put this in your signature.

99 and 01 both have the aluminum teksid block. And it is damn strong
99 and 01 have the exact same pistons.

The interior is much nicer on the 01's. 99's only had leather gt seats, 01's have leather and suede 2 tone with a cobra stitched into the middle

I thought the Teksid block was only 96-98, in '99 they had a different aluminum block.

And I thought that the only iron block DOHC 4.6s were Termies.

Teksid was until 01, Then the WAP came in. All 99 cobra's should have Teksid blocks. The 01's are about 50/50 WAP and Teksid I beileve. Most of the Mach's are WAP but I have heard that some early 03 Mach 1's got a teksid. And yea the Terminator is the only Iron block 4v.
