JLT Ram air or Cold air?

hey i just got a 99 cobra with 11,000 miles on it and i want to put in an Jlt inktake. i wasnt sure with to go with the RAI or CAI. Im also afraid of suckin up water with the cold air,and i live in new jersey so theres not any crazy rain or anything. I also want to if its worth it to spend the extra cash on the CAI, cause im also saving up for an full exaust system. And is it a must to get a tuner if i get one of these intakes?

The ram air intake won't do anything for your car except just make the intake pipe bigger and a bigger filter. Go CAI.

Your fuel injection system will compensate itself for less intense mods like exhaust and a CAI, but once you start going for bigger stuff like cams or bigger injectors your gonna need a tune. Even stuff like a throttle body you might need a tune for depending on the size. My neighbor put a bigger after market throttle body on his LT1 Camaro without a tune and the thing ran so crappy he put the stock one back on.

i havent realy heard about that. a cai is a basic mod that pretty much everyone does so i doubt that it robs power

I have heard that as well, but it's just like the debate with UDP's. Everyone puts them on, yet somehow someone claims to have a loss of power or problem due to them. Get the CAI, you won't regret it.

I have three concerns with the JLT CAI
1) Difficult access
2) Bend in pipe before MAF
3) Water suction

The main improvement in these systems is the conical filter. The bigger pipes are a bonus. Both are good and I have the RAI.
