03 Cobra Recommended Slick Size

What size rim would fit on my 03 cobra. It has irs and stock back brakes. I would like to go with a 15". I know where I can get some slicks that are 27x10x15. Would some 15x8 rims work on that or would I have to go like 15x9 or 15x10. I am looking at purchasing in the next couple days. Also what size backspacing should I get? I want to do this without modding the brakes. Thanks

I am just looking for in the back. I am not going to be doing anything with the front tires. It is my daily driver so it would just be something to put on there when I race it. It is lowered on eibach springs. I am not sure how much but probably like 1.5 or so.

You have to do some grinding on the rear to get 15's to fit....if you're stil IRS of course.

If you have stock cobra brakes any 15" rear wheel will require grinding. The wider you go, the more grinding it'll require. I ran 15x10's and had to grind the banjo bolt, tie rod end and the spindle where the tie rod mounts. There are several wheels made to clear the brakes. Bogart makes a 16x10 and diamond racing makes some more budget minded 16's to clear.

do you know where to get some like 26 or 28 x 10.5 x 16 slicks. i would most likely wan some dot approved slicks to run but if i can't find some then straight slicks would work too. i got some rims that i can put them on i just need to find somewhere that sells the tires.

Summit, Jegs or Wells performance out of Florida. MT makes a ET street in the size you need and I believe Hoosier makes the quick time pro(equivalent to et street) in that size as well.

I wouldn't go any wider than 10" unless you have some serious power. To much traction can be a bad thing. Also, watch out for wheel well clearance. 10" wide wheels with a +22mm offset, and 295, or 11" rears with hit the quaters if the car squats hard. My car trnafers really well and slams the ass end down, I had to roll my quarters because I caught while launching.

well i am hoping to be right around 500 to the wheels. i will probably just end up going with the 10.5 slicks or maybe even 11.
