Changing Supercharger Oil

Does anyone know the best way to change the oil on the blower for the 03 Cobra? My friend told me to use a turkey baster to suck out the oil, then use it to deposite new oil until it starts to come out of the allen key hole, then its filled. Is it easier to take the whole unit off and dump it? Also, I was gonna use 10-w90 Royal Purple oil for the blower, thats a good choice right? I also had another question about speeding up the supercharger with a smaller pulley...but is it wise to do that with no other modifications at this time? Thanks

I aint got any forced induction myself but im pretty sure that if you change the pully to run more boost then your going to need a tune to go along with it..

more boost = more hp and new tune, not sure about changing the oil in the s/c though

factory fill is good up to 100k miles with stock pulley.

but IMO its always good having fresh lubricants.

here's a link to change your blower oil Eaton oil change writeup (pics) - SVTPerformance

s/c pulley- you can change the pulley all you want. all your doing is spinning the s/c faster. I would get a tune when you change a s/c pulley. better be safe than sorry. If your putting the pulley on and driving it to a shop to get a dyno tune. STAY out of boost. After you tune it throttle it all you want. Or you can change the pulley there at the shop and then just throw it on the dyno. Whatever you do just stay out of boost til you get a tune. Let us know what you decide

Thanks..That link though says to use 10w-30, I'd rather stay with the recommended gm supercharger oil, which says to use two bottles per fill. Problem is this stuff is hard to find...does anybody know where to find it? Its a blue bottle somebody actually gave me a link to it here a while ago but I cant find the thread. Until I've decided for now to leave the stock pulley on, I still plan on getting it tuned but I wanna see if I can afford to put a whipple blower or kenne bell on. Ive decided that porting it or changing pulleys is too small a step, and those Hellion turbo kits are dangerous. If someone can give me a link to a site that sells gm supercharger oil at a good price or tell me where I can find a dealer on Long Island that would be great, once I get that straightened out Ill let you know how the mods go. Thanks.

Just like with Ford's friction modifyer, Differential Lubricant Additive. It's about $20.00 for a small bottle. Go to the local TSC or Cat dealership, and get the same product in a bottle 10 time sthe size for the same price.

Parts store has it cheap. Or you could just change to Royal Purple and not have to buy it.

That is what I did for my car, but we own 22 Ford pickups in the fleet, 10 Chevy's and 1 Dodge. Guess who's driving the single turd in the fleet. It's too costly to put Royal Purple in them. They get Petrol Canada 15w 40, it's the best in the world for a diesel. and basically the same stuff we put in our Semi's and our Cat machinery. The Dodge is a lease thankfully, and I change the oil about, oh, every 10,000 mi.

I am talking about putting it in the differntial so you don't have to add friction modifier.

mobil synthetic should do it. 10w-30, its what steigeimeier (sp?) uses when he returns the ported eaton back to its rightful owner.
