4.10s, IRS, and an intermittent knock...

Does anyone know from experience how much an otherwise stock '98 Cobra will pick up in a 1/4 doing NOTHING more than 4.10s?

Also, if I wanted to swap in the IRS from a '99-'04, what's required? I've heard that it bolts directly in, I've also heard there's a couple holes that have to be drilled/reinforced. Can someone who's done this chime in? I'm not looking for more internet hearsay.

Lastly, I'm noticing a little bit of a rough idle/almost knock sound when I fire up my car on a "cool" start. I.e., it won't do it if it's been parked at least overnight, it won't do it when it's warm, only if it's been fired up and ran about 4-9 hours prior. Once the motor's warmed up, it totally goes away. Any thoughts? I was gonna start by cleaning the mass air sensor/throttle body, but...?

Thanks, and sorry for the multiple random questions in a single thread!

By trade, I'm assuming you mean your IRS for my live axle, yes?

I'd probably do that if you were 2,000 miles away!

ya shipping would be a bitch. but i would LOVE to get my hands on a cobra live axel like my old one. because there are difference between cobra's and GT's. does your live axel have anything done to it?

I appreciate it, but I don't think it will be worth it for either of us to ship it that far.

Plus, this is my DD until I can pay for the new motor in the Camry, so I can't really afford to have it down that long

Heh, if you're interested in about 2 months that's probably when I'll have the money/time to do it, and the Camry back together (turbo motor, yay!), that's assuming my buddy doesn't convince me to go torque-arm by then.
