Tranny swap update

Just wanted to give you guys an update on the tranny swap and the build. The Long Tubes are just about done. Little FYI if you 4v guys do the headers I reccomend reusing the studs that are in the heads for the exhaust manifolds. My headers came with new bolts but its pretty hard to align the gasket, line up a bolt, line up the hole and try to get it tight at the same time. So I pulled it back out and put the studs back in. This allowed me to put the gaskets on the studs and it held the gasket in place, plus it was a hell of alot easier to just thread the nut on the stud then have to align a bolt.
If you are planning the manual swap a couple things to remember that I forgot was. Flywheel bolts (the flexplate bolts are too short),If you are not getting an aftermarket cable and quadrant you will have to make sure all the stock parts are on your new clutch pedal assembly for the cable. The key lock on the Automait is cable driven to the shifter, if you don't wanna change out the key lock in the column just tuck the cable up under the center (when you do it you will see what I mean),.

Now for the goodies. I went with a 1 piece forged flywheel from XTD, It weighs in at 12lbs and is SFI approved. It is for an 11" clutch but it has provisions for the alignment pins that will allow you to run a 10.5" clutch as well. It is a resurfaceable flywheel so when its time for a new clutch it can be surfaced and not have to get a new insert like the aluminum ones I was looking at. It ran me $210 shipped so it was a bargain and it is lighter than the other aluminum ones I was looking at.
Next is the Aluminum DS. Got it from AM and it is a very nice piece. I was suprised at how light they realy are compared to the stock one. Got the Spec stage 2 clutch. Prochamber is coming in tommorow and the only thing holding up stabbing the tranny is the starter index plate. This is the thing that is pissing me off. Promotion has it and its cheap but they are so swamped I can't get them to get it shipped out. I am going down to Ford tommorow and see if I can't track one down.
So when it rolls out next week my mod list will be as follows

P&P'd TB
C&L Mass Air Meter
C&L Inlet
P&P'd Upper and Lower manifold
PHP intake spacer
Mac Long Tube Headers
Mac Prochamber
Mac Pro Dumps
FRPP Aluminum DS
XTD Light weight flywheel
Spec Stage 2 clutch
Steeda Tri-Ax
3.90's
31 spline diff
31 spline Moser's
FRPP C-Springs
Stewart Components Water Pump
Steeda UDP's
Royal Purple in Motor,Trans,and Diff
Diablo tuner
Ford GT Supercar fuel pump
Zex wet shot 100-150 shot

I will be taking a bunch of pics of the parts and of the car so you can see where I am at. I will take some more as we start putting it all back together the next few days. I will keep you guys updated.

IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just about done with this beast. It was a big project and it went off with out too many big problems. worked 12hrs last nite then started back on the Mach and we just fired her up a few minutes ago and it sounds freakin wiked! We took a video and I will get it up later tonite or tommorow. I am still going to do a full write up on this because there are some things that can bite you in the butt. After I get it on the road and going good I will start the write up on it so you guys can see what we went thru and it will help you speed up your swap. I will post some pics from this morning in a few so you can see how it came along.

FRPP aluminum DS and Prochamber

Notice the bolt holes for the front of the shifter on the tranny are not showing? Had to trim the metal back where those metal clips are for clearance to allow for the shifter.

Thanks for the comments guys, I am as giddy as a school girl now that I heard her fire up again and everything is going good. Just a few things left and tommoro nite we are heading down the old twisty highway to break the SPEC in.

hey man let us know how that spec clutch works out. i'm having to pull my transmission again because the spec stage 1 i bought is a piece of garbage and chatters horribly. also, is that a self adjusting quadrant for the clutch cable? i'm thinking about getting rid of the self adjuster that comes stock and getting an adjustable cable.
