i think 450 is a lot for a stock engine.you should be good at 380 or 420.so what kind of fuel system are you running?injectors, mass air and fuel pump. i am doing a twin turbo on my car at the moment i should be finish in a week. i got pics

As far as pipe length is concerned, show me a dyno graph where pipe length made a difference in power OR boost response. Whether its a street car, or a race car, the length of the charge tubing has little, to no effect on boost response and power production. Many people believe the STS Turbo system for late model mustangs and GMs are boost lagging turds because of the long charge tubing. Nothing could be further from the truth. Ive driven a few 05+ GTs with the Squires systems, and they respond just as quickly as any other system on the market. Ever taken a look at Mike Murrilos new Outlaw 10.5 car? If not, take a look at where he's placed the turbochargers. Then watch some of his videos of that car in action. For twin 88mm turbos, it spools rather quickly... just as quickly as the rest of the Outlaw guys running turbochargers. The engines in the Cobras dont suck, its just the pistons and rods that hold these engines back.

420-450rwhp is enough for 120-125mph trap speeds, with 10 second ETs.

Exactly!
There is no magic formula that you can just insert HP rating 'A' into car 'B' and get a set 1/4 time. This guy is a regular on tech and seems to really know his stuff. Finally, N/A Stock longblock 4.6 Cobra runs 11's - LS1TECH= Check out this thread, and if you are not a member than you might think about joining so you can shoot him a few PM's. Basically he is running in the 11's with just a hair over 300 to the wheels, on the stock long block. It isn't the HP numbers, it's the setup.

Ofcourse. Setup is more important than power.

Hi there,
You don't need thousands of dollars in engine work and a power adder to just run low 12's. If this is your DD you can get the car to run 12.6-12.8 in full street trim on radials and bolt-ons. Just got to select the right parts. A turbo kit will run you atleast 6k. If your ultimate goal is only 450rwhp then you don't want to build the bottom end just grab your basic Vortech V2 S-trim kit and keep the stock pulley (8psi). Keep the timing within ran and keep her runnin a little on the fat side. You won't get to 450rwhp but it'll be around 400-420rwhp. Plenty of power to run low 12's. You'll spend half the amount of money and achieve your desired ET. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help.

Well if you are set on going with the turbo I'd keep your block, go .020 over and drop the compression to 9.1-9.2:1. Keep the stock crank. Its forged. A simple valve job with a set of valves and springs will be plenty. Stock cams work great with turbos. As far as weight reduction I have the tubular front end, rear seat delete, lightweight race seat, alum driveshaft, alum FW, skinnies, CF hood, lightweight battery, no smog pump, no spare tire and jack, moot bar removed, a few other small items. I still have PS, PW, PB, and stock front brakes. -Mark

I think with fastlane you may be putting a lot of money on a name. If all you want is a mid pipe to be made into a Y then how much work could there be needed? Just buy a UPR off road X, cause they are only like $170ish (last time I checked), and modify that. Find someone with some exhaust welding experience and pay them... Or am I thinking in the wrong direction? It's not like your creating a one off top of the line race car here... But then again I don't know much about turbo systems and the pipping needed.
