how much will it handle?

anyone know what a 99+ ford lightning internals will exactly handle til they snap???i was looking at either getting a lighting and throwing some twins on it or getting a mustang and doing the same....please let me know??thanks

its got a forged bottom end with a cast iron block.

so im say like 800 maybe, not an exact number

but if you want to put twins on it, i dont see a problem at all. and you will be able to run a good amount of boost

+1 It is fully forged and balanced. It will easily hold 800. we had one at OSU put down 1k on the engine dyno with stock internals.

i figured it could hold more but didnt want to put a number that was too high. lol

my brother had one the put down 650. thing was sick.

wow really i was thinking 500 at the most..i was just reading in my mustang magazine and there was a ford lightniing called the fridge and they bolted a whipple 3.4 to it and its putting out 710 hp without an updated fuel system and i was like man i need a truck and want something fast why not get a lightning and i been wanting to turbo the mustang i wanted but why not a lightning..

Yeah, I read that article too. My girl (Well I py for it) has a 99 Lightning. I'm thinking about talking her into letting me mod it.

my brother had a 99 lightning, did a pully swap, intake, and tune.

for a truck that thing moved, drove it on my permit, it was FAST!!!

I have the spare keys, but if I take it out she is going to take the Mach out. She won't drive my compant truck, because it's to big. She would smash it, so it's the lightning, or the Mach. I like my car more than the lightning she is working on getting another car for a daily driver. I'm not being a puss, I'm just dealing with the lesser of the 2 evils.

Weigh and Measure, '99 Lightning, clean, 40k, just an exhaust and CAI or '04 Mach 1 full boltons and few more things, mint, 11K

no.....if you're paying the payments on that truck, then YOU have the right to drive it WITHOUT having to let her drive your mach.

or did she use her evil feminine powers to manipulate you and convince you otherwise?
