Time to go large. Forged bottom end and lots of pressure.

Sounds like a spring broke and dropped a valve causing the bent rod. 7500 is about where stock springs fail. Pull the intake off and look into the ports. You'll probably only have 31 valves showing. -Mark

just being a plain out dumbass and not watching the RPM's.. i was paying attention to my camera man in the other car, but i figured i would have a damn rev limiter, but i guess not... and i would say it prolly only rev'd to 7200 maybe 7300 but still way to high

ah that sucks. im sorry to hear this..

ive been racing before and took it to 7 grand in third. i looked down and i was like.. oh SHIT no wonder the dude was gaining on me! lol hit 4th and jumped back out on him.

but as far as i know i havent had it over 7k. i had my tune set up for a rev limiter at 7k so it wont go over that.( i hope)

Montana....So what REALLY happened.

Trust me on this...if you bent a rod or broke a valve...there will be noise. If youre motor locks up solid in gear...its gonna make noise.

I have a hard time beliving youre cant turn the motor over and yet it made zero noise just died.

It didnt make a noise. I was with him, why would he have a reason to lie on an internet forum? He wasnt in gear. He revved that high and then put his car in neutral to turn on my road. It died, he cranked it again, it ran fine for like 10-20 secs and then died again.

Haha, im not saying anyone is a liar. Notice the "smiley" after my statement. Just doesnt make sence you need a new motor with no noise.

he said when he shifted from second to third it started to gain speed and then slowly started loosing it, with his foot in the gas, then he stopped and it died.
The entire story is kinda confusing. But oh well. good luck to you in whatever you find.

I didn't mean it to come out like that. I wasn't trying to say you called him a liar. And I agree with you that it is kind of confusing and its confusing for me. But all I can go by is what he told me happend in the car and then what I heard after he stopped. I don't see why he would have a reason to lie, especially to me. Thanks for the luck.

If it made no noise at all....well i was going to type something but i just figured it out technicially. I was gonna say a broken timing chain that snaked its way down to the oil pan, and lock up the motor due to valve clearance. But that would 99% sure break or make a noise.

Piston through the oil pan, or side of block would make a noise as well, and cause lots of problems. haha. even oil everywhere. Could have lost oil pressure to the top end and locked it up, but would have been an underlieing problem.

Make sure to get pics when its found. haha

I think its just the valves. I had the same problem in my dohc eclipse. When the timing belt broke there was PTV and it bent the valves. It almost started once after that then I could turn it over by hand. we turned it backwards just a little bit and then tried to turn it over by hand and heard a little tap. Pulled the heads and sure enough it was 2 bent intake valves in the number 3 cylinder. I would seriously check the heads before you buy a new engine. Pull the timing cover off and just see if the chain is broke. If it is then maybe just pull the heads and see before you buy a new motor.
