Terminator Swap

Just recently locked up the motor in my 01 Cobra... i figured if im putting a new one in, i might as well go all out... I'd like to do a Terminator swap, incluing the T-56... Just wanted to know some opinions whether i should just rebuild my existing one ( bored, cam'd, etc.) or the terminator motor... and if i go with the 03 Cobra motor what all ( major) would need to be changed?

Are you planning on doing it with the eaton on the cobra motor or just the short block and tranny?

Depends on the price for the motor/blower setup. Remember you need the tank, fuel pump, heat exchanger, etc. if you wanna do the termi swap. But if you are gonna do a blower motor and just keep your tranny you could get it done cheaper and easier than a termi/t-56 swap.

The fuel tank in the Cobra has 2 fuel pumps, but I'm sure there's a way around that.

The cobra tank is a baffeled tank and you definatly want that in a supercharged drag car with a returnless fuel system. Unless you plan to baffle your current tank.

id just build the engine and trans you already have and put a blower or turbo on that. simplifies everything a lil bit

it just seems like it would be easier just to get a termi motor and swap it out...it has forged internals and the right compression and everything... and i dont think my T-45 will hold up well...then to make some money back I can just part out my other stuff

If you get the ecu, cross member, drive shaft, etc from the termi it won't be too bad but again it all depends on how much the motor and trans and the extras runs you.

I priced this out both ways with my car, and it's cheaper to build what you have, than to swap on for termie. You could build your motor into alot badder of an engine for the money that it would cost you just to do the swap, and full boltons.
