transmission???
will my stock 98 gt Transmission work with a cobra motor
i just got a 98 cobra motor cheap and im thinking about putin it in my gt my questions are will it bolt up or do i have to do some mods will my gt Transmission work is there anything else i need other then the computer |

Both used the same tranny so it should be a direct swap. And like you said just mess around with the computer so it will recognize the new muscle.

the trans will bolt right up.....the comp is good but you can get a flash tune cheaper with a dyno...and itll move out....did a 4v swap in mine awhile back...all stock motor...410 gears, headers and exhaust...went 12.89 108..i think it was...

Make sure to use your GT tranny mount and crossmember. Otherwise your looking at cobra midpipes

No you need the 04 cobra computer for the 04 cobra motor. 4v and its supercharged.

I had a brainfart sorry, I meant to say that if you use the Cobra trans then the cross member will be moved back to the end of the tailshaft of the transmission. And DOC the midpipes are different. I put a cobra tranny in my 97 GT and I couldnt reuse my midpipe I had to order one for a cobra. The converter was hitting the crossmember

I have put a tru x from a gt on a termi with no problems. Most of them should be the same. The only time I have seen seperate ones are for the 3" termi mid pipes.
