Hey, i was thinking about buying an 01 cobra from a guy in my town. Hes having a new engine put in by ford and it will be under a factory warranty. but i was wondering if you guys know of any potential problems that i should look out for. Or if there is anything that i should keep an eye out for.

Not much if it is getting a new motor in it. Drive it and see how it feels, but the new motor should take care of the major problems those cobras have of smoking on the top end.

about 16k. the rest of the car has about 52k on it. idk.. im stuck between a cobra or a mach 1 lol

youre about to get bombarded with "get a mach 1" replies from all the people in the 4v/svt forum, but i love my cobra and it puts up about the same as the mach. go with what you want but the 99/01 cobra is a nice car.

theres a certain pride and allure to owning a svt vehicle, but mach 1s are badass and have great potential, i had the option of either a 01 cobra or my mach and i chose the mach, id rather have a 03/04 cobra but as far as the choice between a mach and cobra it was obvious for me due to a few things, i didnt want the IRS, machs have the edge over the N/A cobras and the looks are much better IMO, but there is something very alluring about owning a cobra

I also chose the Mach over the Cobra, but I hadn't found any decent '01 Cobras either.

haha yeaaaa true. but it's your own. no1 realy does the same mods or same look. i feel liek corvettes are overdone. you dont see a whole lot of heavily modded mustangs cruisng around everyday (or atleast i dont).

There are more heavily modded mustangs driving around than heavily modded vettes.

maybe where you are at. Around here its modded F-Body cars, especialy camaros

I hardly see any F- bodies anymore. Seriously they're dying out in MI, and come to think of it. I haven't seen but a couple of Z28's all stockers and pos's. Not one SS, and not one nice Z28.

I haven't even seen a Z06 since I've been down here. I see alot of rice, BMW's, Porches, and various other imports.

Man, I seen a Supra today in downtown Raleigh. I've never seen one in person before. I wish that I had my car, so I could pwn it. It was so riced out, it had a huge wing, and a ugly ass body kit.
