Pulled Cobra Question-"NOISE"
I just had to replace my lowest idler pulley back to stock in my 03 Cobra which is smaller than the 100mm Billet Flow I was using. I swapped out and tested 4 different pulleys and the bearings rattled in all of them but only when it was placed on the lowest idler. It is a perfect rhythm and sounds just like a cricket. It would rattle so loud that I could hardly hear my exhaust. My exhaust is stock, but still that is loud. So I came to the conclusion that either billet flow is crap and they just can't handle the force on my lower idler or the pulleys I tested were all too big and were putting too much pressure on the belt. I have 2 more 100mm billet flow pulleys, 1 92mm and the 2.76 upper and I have absolutely no problems with them....yet. Well all is fine now with the stock back in place but I am curious if anyone else who is "pulled" had this problem and if not I would like to know what size and brand you used. I would guess the way the belt wraps under then over the lower pulley that it receives the most tension and stress. I attached a pic of the one I had problems with (the lowest 100mm). Glad it’s the lowest because it is hardly visible .

I hope it's not a problem with the Billetflows, because I'm trying to get an idler set, 2.76, and pulley puller all brand new for $400 from someone on svtperformance.

thats a good deal for 400. Going red or blue? You should be OK. Like I said the rest are fine. I just have to keep stock on lowest idler. Billet flow offered to fix or replace the part for no charge so I think all around they are a good company and product. Just remember if you hear the noise that I heard go straight to the lowest one first and dont waste your time with the others. Again, it wasnt a bad pully. all my quiet ones made noise when placed on lower and when the noisy one was moved up it didnt make any noise.

I went ahead and bought them. I couldn't pass up the deal. I got them from a chick off of svtp. I did the math through lethalperformance it was $600 before shipping for everything. The pulleys are the clear/silver. I'm just waiting patiently for them to arrive in the mail. Should be Monday. I just need to get a tuner and I'll be good to go. I'll have to post up some pics soon. I've done a few things since I bought it.
