I'll continue this tomorrow I have to hit the hay. I have vid at home of this, you can litterally see the compressor wheel shoot out of the exhaust stack like a ball of fire, and into the ceiling. I'm lucky that I had the stack on, and not the regular exhaust it would've taken someone out of the game.

I've seen it happen many of times, but all on diesels. I've never matched turbos with gas engines.

That might be the kink in the deal. they practicly run on detonation so it might be jumping back down the intake and poping the compressor. who knows. Might have to do some studying on that.

You might, but I'm done building, and hot rodding diesels. They cost way too much.

This post was a very good post, imo. Very nice explanations for parts. Really helps a beginner with learning what parts actually do for the car.

Thanks for the revival of the thread.

Great post. I'm new on here and although my car basically has every mod mentioned already, it's great reading into detail on them. Very informative!

Everything stays the same except you are limited on what intakes you can use and long tube headers. There are issues with spacing when using traditional 4.6 long tube headers on a 5.4. You can use shorty headers or the stock ones with a little modification.

You can't use a 4.6 intake with a 5.4 block unless you have an adapter plate. This isn't the optimal choice but it will get you by if you don't have the money to buy an intake that is made to fit correctly.
