Start upAs the title states, I took the Mach out for a spin (50miles or so). Came home and parked it. I Noticed it needed a wash, so i went in and tried to start the car, but it hesitated with the start up or as if there wasn't enough spark to start the car and eventually died. I tried it again, but this time i gave it some gas and "what do you know" it started. This is new to me. The plugs were recently changed a week ago. Could this be something else that needs my immediate attention? Keep in mind that i have no tune with several mods that require one....lol (My fault) Could that be the answer? Any information is greatly appreciated at this moment

The tip of the plugs had a minor rust color but nothing too serious. It could've been water that is no longer there. The plugs were black and gray. Like i said i have a JLT ram air, Bassani high flow X magnaflow weld ins and pulleys and have no tune. Could that be it?

That stuff doesn't realy require a tune. It would be helpful though. I have seen more stuff on a car with no tune and not have problems like that. when you are "givin it gas'' you are just opening the throttle blade, you aren't actualy adding more gas like in the carburated cars.

How long has it been since you changed the fuel filter?

you could try different spark plugs mayb, if this just happened and the spark plugs were changed not long ago either it could be that. same thing happened with my jet ski today ( i know completely different so i dont want to here how its not teh same) but i changed teh spark plugs and it started just fine.

Changed it about 8k ago. Could it be that it needs replacement after cleaning the fuel injectors with Lucas gas treatment? I'm more confused than a child lost at chuckee cheese...lol The car runs great and it's a "stay at home" vehicle.

did you listen for the fuel pump? you can always try the old trick of taking off the gas cap and sticking a pen to open the lid and having someone turn the key, even if it turns on, check the fuel pressure maybe its going or getting to hot etc. not sure if thats it but its something to try.

Its possible the lucas got all the gunk out of the tank to move on down the line to the filter. Its worth a shot and its a cheap part. Try that and if it doesn't fix it then you will have to do a little more trouble shooting. But if it fixes it you haven't wasted a bunch of time. |

you might also want to check to see if you pushed the coil on good enough. make sure one isnt loose. |
