Rear gear...speedo off!!!Alright here is what I have...a speedo that is way off even after programming with a handheld!!! I'm running a T-56 Cobra spec with a 3.73 rear gear on a 295 rear tire. After many hours of searching and plugging in numbers into a gear chart, I have concluded by looking at the chart going by the displayed speed reading on the speedo at the given RPM in a given gear, it looks like 4.30 gears match the speed that I am going. Would I be able to program the car to the 4.30 gear and have the speedo be closer to accurate? Or would that just be wasting my time? For instance...I'm running 44 mph on the speedo at 2500 in 4th gear. Looking at the 3.73 calculations in the chart the speedo should be reading 52 mph. If I plug in the same tire, gear and trans ratios...4.30 gear is closest to what the speedo is reading!!! The car has been going a good while like this and I just want to get it close to accurate as I can to keep mileages and such inline...not to mention I don't want a speeding ticket either! Any insight or help would be appreciated!!!

Get a tuner, that should correct the speedo

He has a tuner. Just plug in the gear that puts the speedo where it needs to be. you are looking at a differnent top end gear ratio on the 56 thats the issue. Do your calculations and put in the tuner what it needs even though its not what you have. |

get ahold of a good dyno tuning shop and tell them what you got and Im sure they have came across a simular issue and could send you a correct tune for it. |
