Engine cranking but no start....??

Hello all,

I bought a 98 supercharged cobra with a high output fuel pump, headers, H pipe, high flow cats, flowmaster cat back exhaust and so on. I bought this from the owner because he had engine blow back (leaking supercharger). So I finally got the supercharger back from being rebuilt and I hooked everything up after cleaning all the oil out of the pipes/tubes, and changed the oil. The engine was cranking but it just wouldn't start. I put all new spark plugs in it this morning before I went to work to see if it would start (the old plugs were covered in oil) but the engine just kept cranking and wouldn't start. The battery has ~ 14 volts, still wouldn't start when hooked up to a charger. The starter was getting plenty of juice. I am trying to narrow down my problem here. Could it be my coil packs (not sure who makes them but they do not look stock) or ignition coil (stock motorcraft)? However, the car has MSD ignition wires on it, so I doubt those would go bad so fast. There are times when the car will just decide to start because I have driven it around multiple times (how I found out the supercharger still wasn't properly rebuilt) so any ideas?

Thanks,
Chris

Also, the car has a fuel pressure gauge under the hood. So when the key was first put into the accessory position, the pressure gauge shoots up to 40-50 PSI, then slowly drops down to 15ish then just cranks and cranks and just keeps dropping. So I was also thinking I might have a bad fuel pump but it was running fine the other day so it might just be a loose connection. Hopefully is but I haven't had the time to check all the wiring yet.

you can start by checking all fuses just to try. Prob not it if It starts sometimes. Dies sound like it could be a bad pump or filter thu

Ok thanks. When I get home I'm going to end up checking all the wires and i'll make sure to check the O2 sensor.

It ended up being a junk connection from the ignition pack. After maneuvering the wires around and pushing them into the connector the car started right up.
