I'd just change your oil more frequently than add an additive. I used to be big on the Slick 50's and stuff of that nature, but anymore I'd rather just run better oil and change it more frequently... maybe do the SeaFoam in the crankcase a day or two before the oil change.

SeaFoam can be used at least three different ways:
1) sucked in through the vacuum system/carb: this is probably what you're thinking of, and what causes the huge spy-hunter style smoke clouds to come out of your car.
2) added to the fuel, as an injector cleaner
3) added to the crankcase, to clean the internals

You're generally supposed to change the oil after you do #1 anyway, as what the SeaFoam actually does is soak into the carbon deposits, expanding them, and causing them to flake off the metal. Better to not have that stuff floating around in your oil.

If you're already paying for Royal Purple for some reason I wouldn't throw additives into your super-de-duper oil. Just run the Royal Purple or other synthetic that you've chosen. Additives are band-Aids for broken motors. If you need to "extend" the life of your already synthetic oil then you need to start buying a cheaper synthetic that does the same thing and change the oil at the correct interval and time.

Personally, I think Royal Purple is all "fantastic reputation" and word-of-mouth, but I've never seen any tests showing anything to backup my opinion of it either way. I'd like to see one done that shows it actually does something better than using a much cheaper and yet still name brand synthetic (or dino oil) in this case. I just can't see ANY oil being worth that much more for street cars or even higher horsepowered ones at that. My neighbor drags a lead-sled down the quarter mile in low 9 second fashion on it's rear bumper half way and Pennzoil does him just fine. I think it's which bottle is prettier, who knows. A lot of drag racin' guys must like the color purple.

I know around here people claim Mobil 1 is no longer FULLY synthetic like they once were (which is probably true), since the government lets them not be pure synthetic and still claim they are synthetic. I guess if Royal Purple is the only one left then they would be the best synthetic.

High horsepower, who knows. Maybe I'm a cheapo who is feeding my car inferior Castrol GTX.

One thing I don't do is run Super Tech Oil. It's probably the world's greatest, but for some reason I imagine it's Wal*Mart's chicken fryer's leftover grease with a bunch of black dye in it. That or I won't go that low - yet. Oh yeah, no Amsoil enemas either.

There have been several guys over at the Mach1 registry who've
conducted tests or had the oil analyzed in a research lab. Some had minor malfunctions when drag racing with that oil. It is stated that the molecules break quicker than others. Anyways, I believe that it's too much for oil.

I use royal purple for oil. And Lucas additives rock. And mobil one has some conventinal oil in it now. And you shouldn't keep seafoam in the crankcase in the oil for more then 150 miles as it breaks down oil. This is all stuff I heard
