A little MAF swap help?

Recently I purchased for quite a deal off eBay a ProFlow 90mm/87mm MAF which is for a 96 Cobra (stamped on the MAF) and calibrated for 24# injectors. The only problem here is the car barely runs with the unit installed.

The car has to be babied at 1500 rpms to prevent it from even stalling, and then it barely would start. Swapped back to stock - works fine.

I have a SCT Livewire, but I'm not sure I can do a whole lot. I don't really need a larger MAF yet, but I'd like to use it. (Damn if it's not just pretty looking alone.)

Any ideas or suggestions on what simple fix I'm missing because I love missing the obvious answer?

Thanks.

Proflow? Who makes them? My guess is its a crappy maf and needs a tune to work correctly. Using mafs cal'd for injectors is the very old way of doing things. Now its all done in the tune.

I don't think this brand has been around in quite a long time probably explaining why this isn't working, it's probably from 1998.
