noise in the rear??
Okay, ive noticed a noise in the rear of my car. im not sure if its the brakes or the differential itself. the guy at this shop asked me if when i let off the gas if it still makes the noise and i said yes and he seemed to think that if it made it stop the noise then it was in the diff. but the noise continues as long as the cars rolling. its definatly something in the back end of the car not front or middle.
um.. the best way i can describe the noise, SOUNDS horrible but its not as bad as it SEEMS... but its a grinding/ rubbing type noise. my first instinct was that the rear was out of fluid. had it checked today and it was full. does anyone elses car make ANY type of noise like this? btw i can only notice it when the radio/ air is off and windows up.. just cruising in 5th gear. it sort of makes the sound a car makes when you put an aftermarket gear in it.. like a humming type sound? but mine is the stock gear.. i know nothin i say is very detailed and probably makes zero sense. but i did the best i can. oh and i dont think it would be my brakes bc the noise doesnt change when i brake.. im really really 'thinking' its some sort of noise in the diff . i cant remember if my gt ever made that noise.. this might even be nothing but normal . please help if u can. Josh

have you put aftermarket gears in the car? Or launched it super hard? Could be a u joint vibrating or improper r&p backlash/shim
