just bought an 03 cobra

hi guys just bought a 03 terminator after my neon srt4 got stolen, kinda miss the lil 4banger but i use to have a 94 s/c'd gt before and had to come back to rwd, my cobra is stock it only has a k&n cai, thats it, feels kinda slow so i ordered a 2.80 pulley, diablo tuner, magnaflow cat-back, what gains should i see with those mods? , i want to do 11 sec in the next month when the track reopens, i never did that with the turbo srt the best i did was a 12.0 at 120, so i hope to do a lot better with this awesome car,, need help

My car went 11.98@120 first time out with a Straight axle swap with 4.10s, 2.8 pulley, exhaust and a canned tune. It still has alot left in it. That pulley and a tune will make a hell of a difference.

BTW don't forget the idler pulley.

congrats man!! and honestly, with the pulley, tune, some drag radials along with the driver mod, you should be able to tag the bottom 12's high 11's.

you probably wouldnt see good gains with that pulley if you dont get an idler pulley. belt slip= loss in power.

would a handheld tuner be good enough to make a good, safe tune on the OP's car after a pulley swap?

i would feel safer putting it on a dyno and having a tune built for it...

same here. i would be really worried about detonation with just a handheld tuner.

how much of a differance can you typicaly see going from a handheld tuner to a dyno tune. i just have a sct tuner..it seems to work fine so far until the tranny decided it didnt like my driving anymore. but i do plan on some dyno time this winter

kinda depends on your tuner and what he suggests. really hard to say what you might gain. the main thing you'll gain is a better piece of mind.

i talked to the tuner (he specializes in mustangs) he said he reccomends diablo before sct and that with those mods i should see a minimum of 40rwhp, i'm thinking about getting the UPR idler pulley as well, will an x pipe or H pipe give me more noticeable power? or i should just stick with the magna cat-back? how about headers are the stockers pretty good in flow? and would porting the eaton give me more power as well running the same 2.80 pulley? sorry for all the q's

I think a X pipe increases hp and a H pipe increases torque. someone correct me if its the other way around.

and yeah, porting the blower would give you gains while keeping the same size pulley.

all tuners have different prefrences to the tuning software. my tuner is that exact opposite, he hates diablo, but loves sct. but thats not big thing, its whatever they are comfortable with. the idler pulley will help with a smaller upper pulley. i personally went with a bassani x-pipe to get a touch more power. as for headers, not sure i would spend the money on headers, as the gain is not that big on our car. atleast not enough to justify the expense imo. as for porting, yes, very worth it. though i would go with a lower pulley to really see some good torque gains too.
