I know im gonna feel like an idiot after asking this but i own a 1999 Cobra that is fairly stock except for the exhaust and a tune, but ive been really looking into getting a nice intake for it. I hear really great things about the JLT cai but ive also been tossing around the idea about possibly putting a shaker ram air hood on it. I was just wondering would that take any form of fabrication on my part or could that be bolted right in and work just fine? and now this is really going to make me feel stupid but if i did put a shaker on the car would i then be able to put a JLT cai on it also or would that shaker completely suppliment my need for intakes, and with either the JLT or the shaker what kind of gains would i be expecting?

what would you guys do?

Im new to this whole modification and biz but ive been an avid mustang fan for a LONG time and im just really getting into the mechanical aspects of it, i know a bit but im still learning.

You will see less than 10 hp from an intake

The shaker hood has a kit you can get for it. You shouldnt get much of a gain from the shaker itself, but mixed with a JLT CAI for the Mach 1 you should gain about 12-15 hp total.

+1 I myself prefer the C&L inatkes, but if you buy the shaker setup then just get the mach intakes like bob said and you will be good to go. it will be a nice gain. But the shaker will be 98% looks

I ran a JLT RAI on my Mach before I went supercharged. I liked it. And they use such a big filter! Afterall, isn't it about size? +

Looking into getting a JLT RAI for the Cobra set-up since I have the Eaton now.
