Mach dead in the parking lot.

Well I knew my battery was almost at the end of its run, it was leaking a little bit and one of the terminals was coming off. The car had been starting weird for a while, the battery just looked like cr*p. I decided to risk it one more day and went to the store, I told the wife I will call you if I get stranded at the store. Well I get to the store and buy my stuff, get to the car and umm yeah car is dead. So I call the wife, she picks me up and now I have a new Optima red top, looks great in the car and the car is turning on smooth now. Just thought I would share my story. I wont be ashamed of taking pictures of the motor now.

Things learned:
Don't wait till your stranded in front of the drug store to change something you know is going to break, because you will have people watching you in your nice clean looking mustang that wont start. lol

Question:
My clamps are looking a little beat up and corroded, they seem to be working fine but should I just change them out since I changed the battery? easy to change?

Yeah I have heard about the coke cleaning them up, my friend had a old 1980s corola and when his car would not start he threw some coke on it and boom it worked. I just didnt know if it was safe or not for the parts.

It should be safe as long as you clean the coke off with some wd40 or even some peroxide or rubbing alcohol, then rinse off with a little water and you will be good to go.

just remember above all DONT RECONNECT BATTERY B4 DRY. alcohol and wd-40 are both highly flamable and we dont ur nxt repost to be from a hospital or junkyard. Can Coke has a high amount of citric acid so it eats away the corrosion and the wd40 and alcohol takes it off. if u use alcohol i would stil hit i w wd40 cause it also can prevent the corrosive.
ona side note tho if u get bored wd40 and a lighter is always fun..lol
