I'm at a red light and the car has a steady shake to it with the put put sound still coming out the exhaust. I hit the gas and as I accelerate the shaking gets worse and the sound gets louder, so I bust a U turn to come back home and the engine is just going crazy... my shaker is just rocking side to side in a steady motion with the hollow puttering brushing sound coming out the exhaust. Anyone know what going on with my car? I have not added any mods to it in while and have not gone WOT in a while and the last thing I did was put fuel in the car yesterday morning.
I really think it is the gas. It happened everytime I went to this particular station. Found out that they had low octane selling at high. The fines are so small that they still make money by cheating the public. I added a pepboy octane boost additive to my car(although everyone said that stuff doesnt work and its bogus) it ended the problem. Also check and make sure your CAI filter isnt loose or falling off, that will do it as well.

WELL> My post is late...didn't read the rest. Wish it was just gas...sorry and good luck. Now you need to find out what caused that.

You can buy a compression tester and see if there is a hole in the piston and that is something you can check in a parking lot, but i am pretty sure it will be ok. But yes pulling the head will be a labor intensive job which will cost you an arm and a leg. If the piston is fine then it will just cost you a head gasket and head bolts in parts. If you have it removed make sure you go look for yourself if they say the piston is bad.
