Yeah no kidding, Paul from PHP told about an engine that he was building.
5.0 big bore
teksid block
stage 3 fox lake ported heads
custom PHP cams
titanium valvetrain pieces
canton pan w/ windage tray
billet i beam rods
coated forged pistons
forged crank
race quality bearings
etc...

He wants $8500.00 for the motor I install it

That engine there should put down around 430rwhp/460rwtq but that engine can't be sprayed so it's out of the question. It's a badass motor. You can have that engine installed for $13k with everything. On race fuel it should make closer to 450. With as light as your car is Acid it would be like having another 100hp at the tire.

I kind of thought about taking the weight even more to the extreme and going NA since I love those cams and it would be more reliable....

But I think I need more power...

I wanted to go twin screw but to get intercooled I need C heads which adds quite a bit to the cost. Plus they favor the lower compression which really limits me from changing my mind since NA/Turbo/Centri would prefer slightly higher compression. I'll admit when it comes to changing my mind, I'm like a woman so best to keep my options open. Something like 9.[0-4]:1 comp.

I've been thinking about the single turbo route again but building for no lag vs. high power. Been studying compressor maps and such trying to find the absolute smallest fastest spooling turbo that wont surge. Like a single 57mm or even smaller just for the quick spooling properties without ruining the turbo. I'm seeking 2000rpm quick response for the street. I want more average power over the band than peak.

I dont have to have more power than the TS, I just want to stick with B heads, get the small boost in mpg which would probably push me over 30mpg with the weight, and have some instant power to play with. Due to the low weight I think that would be a fun combo plus recently I've really started to favor the sound. Being able to change boost without getting out of the car is also attractive.

Just my thoughts this week
