03/04 SVT Cobra-heavy clutch

hey i just bought an 04 terminator cobra about a month ago and I LOVE IT...just wondering about the clutch though, its really heavy and when shifting you have 2 press the clutch the whole way to the floor in order 2 avoid grinding...are they all like this or what? i'm used 2 driving my '02 charged gt, which is for sale, but shifting with that was a lot smoother

I'm wandering this too, now I don't have to completely push it to the floor to prevent grinding but it's getting to be hard as shit to push the thing down

uhhhh you kind of have to press any clutch all the way to the floor. Pressing it down another inch isn't that hard is it?

The clutch you get used to fast. Get an MGW if you want to shift smoother, otherwise you will need a driver mod.

Your clutch is probably out of adjustment! If you have to push it all the way to the floor to prevent grinding it is either out of adjustment or worn out. Adjust your clutch by pulling up on the clutch pedal, you should hear a click. The stock adjuster on our cars is a piece of shit. You should invest in an aftermarket firewall adjuster and clutch quadrant.

I was just going to say it before Boostfiend beat me to it. I reccomend an aftermarket clutch quadrant like this one,

His shifter has nothing to do with clutch pedal feel. Sorry, but your post is a fail...

I feel like dick for attacking her post like that, but I have read most of her posts, and they're either 90% incorrect or not even remotely helpful, or topic.

Do all those era mustangs have a cable clutch? If not, a switch from hydraulic to cable would feel very heavy...

Yes we have a clutch cable. Even on a hydraulic clutch you have a cable.

They are cable clutches. The stock Cobra clutch does have a very heavy feel for a stock vehicle. My aftermarket clutch has a lighter feel than the stocker.
