Thinking about a t-5 conversion?
My 93 lx has an AOD and I want a manual!...Is there a lot involved in the swap? Am I able to do it in my garage with some help no problem? What exactly would I need? I know the transmission pedals and clutch cable but not exactly sure what else? How much would I be able to pay for a fairly decent t-5 5 speed? and about how much would I be able to sell my AOD and components for? The car just got over 112,000 yesterday and the auto is in great condition and has a shift kit...SHIFTING IS FUNNN!!! =D

its not that hard to do. you need t5 bellhousing flywheel clutch pilot bearing 5 speed blocking plate pedels clutch cable quadrant flywheel bolts

Here's a guide that I used when I swapped a T5 into my 83 Vert
Best to find a donor car if you can, buying the pieces individually will quickly add up. Ford Mustang: Mustang Tech: Transmission and Drivetrain: AODE to T5 Swap |

I have a pedal set up. I was going to do the swap in my son's 86 but never got around to it. He came home from Afghanistan and sold the car so I have no use for it. Anyway I don't recall what I paid but if someone can suggest a fair price maybe we can make a deal.

Does anyone who has done a auto to manual trans swap have any information about how they made the reverse lights work again? Or is everyone driving around with no reverse lights like my car???
