Adjusting Clutch cable, seems to stretch easily?

I have a new FRP clutch cable that adjusts at the clutch fork, new clutch and pressure plate. I disabled the stock quadrant adjuster. Does the cable stretch a lot, as I have had to adjust it about every 3-4 weeks, since the beginning of November. Gears start to get tough to go into, reverse starts to grind and the pedal then barely comes off the floor before engaging, this is when I know I need another adjustment.

I don't drive it hard, and had an 86 GT which never needed this before. Can this type of cable be used with a firewall adjuster as crawling under the car is getting to be a PITA.

Anybody experience this also?

Thanks

The teeth on the small adjusting gear were all chewed up and the parts supplier told me since this cable was adjustable I didn't need the original quadrant adjuster.

double nut the clutch fork end of the cable and get it tight. mine used to do that for a while until one day it loosened alot on a long drive and i had to drive the last 1/2 mile cramming it into gear basically clutchless. after that i made sure it wouldn't happen again.

Well readjusted it today, it doesn't seem to be backing off, but I've double nutted it and will give it a go.

Thanks for the suggestion.
