FORD RACING GT-40X TURBO-SWIRL ALUMINUM
How good is this, would you guys say?
FORD RACING GT-40X TURBO-SWIRL ALUMINUM Features 64cc Combustion Chambers. Machined 356-T6 Aluminum With1.94" Intake And 1.54" Exhaust Valves And Valve Springs 240 CFM Intake Flow Rate and 170 CFM Exhaust Flow Rate Sold Individually ANd what cam will work good with that also? I have an Trick Flow U/L intake.. and can't afford the heads from TFS. I am getting these really cheap..and wants to know if it worth it. Thanks |

the reset of my mods are
70MM TB BBK CAI 24# injector (not install yet) U/L Trickflow (not yet install) Trick flow stage 1 cam (not install yet, would that work with these heads) BBK Shorty headers, with o/h x pipe and flows I want a really good cam, to work with those heads if they are good to used, all suggestion are welcome. Thanks PS: I know i should save up for the TFS, but what are my options on these.

I am getting both for $650, but I can beat him down to 600 flat... if i walk with cash lol...
but compare to the TFS, on the scale from 1 to 10 how good are they, i'm sure they're not better.

Ok, but my ? is how good are those heads compare to the Trick Flow TW on a scale from 1-10?

i think the GT-40's are a good head even though most people consider them "out-dated". but if u have the experiance, u could open up and polish the ports a bit and have a set of great heads. i wouldn't worry to much about the valves cause there decent sized if u plan on stickin with a stock "bore" 302... but thats just my opinion.

i read an older mmff and they swapped those for a set of afr's picked up 77hp if that tells you anything

They heads are used.. I am not gonna bother with it..
I do want a set of heads though. I am gonna go with Trick Flow T.W or where can I find info an afr's and are they better then the twisted wedge? I"m need a cam to go with that too.. I want a mid-mean sounding cam. I find.. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...10002_26553_-1 which one would you guys recommended? I think I can come up with that $$$ (KEY WORD THINK) but which one? |

If you go with the 185s you have to have your pistons notched. Still no biggie. I have a set of 165s and a custom cam from ed at FTI waiting to go in. Give him a shout he will send you in the right direction, http://www.flowtechinduction.com/
