Do i have to get a different distributor?

im planning to swap to carb on my 89. know ill need a good fuel regulator, but everwhere i have read, everyone says that you need a different distributor. why is that?

vaccume advance insted of the computer doing it for you.

Once I used a computer on a carbed car by cutting a slot on a valve stem, and rigging it to the throttle blade shaft on the carb, and attaching the TPS to the throttle linkage bracket, It kinda worked decent too. the timing curve was flat as hell tho.

Yes you will need a different distributor. Why do you want to swap to a carb?
