Let me know what to do guys. I need this done asap. So any help would be appreciated.
You need the fill plug out regardless so you know when its full. Overfilling it is just as bad as underfilling it.

I was just asking, I use a piece of tubing and have always filled it through the top plug. I see references of people filling through the shifter and I thought maybe you could see the plug or something from the top to know when it is filled, or, people are guessing

I put 2.75 quarts in. Maybe 2.85. I guessed because I didn't have a jack or jack stands. Shifts fine though so I guess I'm fine

200k miles, huh. How often are you supposed to change fluid in a T5?

I have had my car for 5 years and I just had it changed today. Who knows how long it was before that. All I know is it didn't smell burnt when I bought it.

I haven't put 200K on it though

Mine was leaking through the speed sensor for a long time so I was always adding fresh fluid

Lower passenger side. Yes that is correct. the upper one on the same side is the fill port. It is a pain to fill it through there without a little pump set up. Most people fill it through the shifter because it is easier. take the face plate off of your stereo first because you may end up punching it when you take the shifter out. I punched my a/c controls. my stereo wasn't installed at the moment.

My stock 91 with almost 160K and 20 years was changed ONCE since new. Wow, maybe I should change it again.
