pay a mechanic a few bucks to take a look at it, he'll be able to give you a general idea of what needs to be done to pass inspection and make it suitable for a dd.....as for emissions you wont know how far off it is until you hook it up

Well I could just bring it down to my uncles shop and have him look it over but the problem right now is that the car is no longer registered or insured so it would have to be trailered there and just end up being a major hassle. I really wanted the car because overall it is in great shape with almost no rust and runs strong but I don't know how hard it is going to be to get it to be a daily driver.

Should I buy it but pay no more than $1500 and just get it to pass emisssions or should I keep looking for another car. It is damn near impossible to find a foxbody mustang that is in decent shape around here and it is impossible to find a non molested fox for under $5000 because everyone thinks that they worth their weight in gold.

I'd say buy it. And You might get lucky cause I don't see very many fox's with after market valve covers as the only motor mod lol. Just hope you don't need the ac lol.

gotn2o the AC doesn't bother me because my mountaineer didn't have AC this whole past summer I got used to it.
