How do i install a new TFI?


and what the dick checkers couldnt find it in their computer, is there a diff name for it?

and the tfi is the thing on the dizzy thats like a lil box with 2 bolts at opposite corners of it right? my car starts and runs fine but wont start when its warm.... im pretty sure its the tfi just having problems ordering a new one

Takes a really skinny socket....had to grind mine down slightly....make sure you put some contact grease on the backside

checkers sucks. thick film integrated is what it stands for, try somewhere else and ask for it that way. and I think the socket to get it out is something like a 5.5mm

Pull it. It will be alot easier. just rember where the rotor is pointing and mark it. and napa has a little nut driver made just for this if you cant get to it.

When my tfi went bad it was insane. If I pop'd my hood and I was standing in front of the motor it would run but if i moved and the sun was shining on the tfi it would die. I ground down a 5.5 socket to then as shit on my bench grinder and took it right off.
